The Finest Golf Experiences

Three Legendary Courses: History, Technical Challenge & Natural Beauty
Gurume Greens has hand-selected three legendary courses rarely featured in standard golf packages to France. Our selection rests on three inseparable criteria:
-
Historical Legacy — Greens that have shaped the history of continental golf and welcomed the greatest champions of the game.
-
Technical Demand — Strategic designs that reward thought and precision over raw power, offering the mental challenge that passionate golfers truly seek.
-
Exceptional Settings — Preserved environments where the round itself becomes an immersive experience in nature: royal forests, wild maquis, and clifftop peninsulas above an impossibly blue sea.
Tee times, transfers, and green fees are secured and confirmed in advance. No uncertainty on the ground.

Our Commitment to the Environment
The courses we propose are actively engaged in ecological stewardship — reducing pesticide use, managing water resources with care, and maintaining areas of biodiversity. This reflects an environmental consciousness we share wholeheartedly.
Modern golf does not dominate nature — it enters into dialogue with it. This respectful approach enriches every round, placing golfers within living ecosystems where wildlife thrives just beyond the fairway.

Golf de Fontainebleau
A Royal Forest
One Hundred Years of Elegance
Opened in 1909, Fontainebleau is one of France’s oldest courses, set at the heart of a forest that once served as imperial hunting grounds. Designed by Julien Chantepie, refined by Tom Simpson in 1920 and adjusted by Fred Hawtree in 1963, the course has been shaped by a century of careful stewardship.
Relatively narrow fairways wind between Scots pines, silver birches, beeches, and oaks that have stood for hundreds of years. One hundred and three finely raked sand bunkers, along with heather, lilac, and bracken, compose a symphony of colour that changes with every season. Sandy subsoil ensures excellent playing conditions regardless of the weather.
-
Technical challenge: Precision and strategic thinking rewarded over power.
-
Signature feature: Fast, true-running greens demanding the finest touch on the putting surface.
-
Recognition: Named France’s finest course by Golf Européen in 2001; ranked 5th on the European continent by Golf World in 2019. The Norman-style clubhouse is adorned with frescoes by Barbizon painter Paul Tavernier.

Golf de La Boulie
The historic home of french Golf
Founded in 1901 by diplomat Pierre Deschamps, La Boulie is the birthplace of Parisian golf. The original layout was designed by Scottish architect Willie Park Junior, who created over 170 courses across Europe, including Sunningdale.
In 1906, the first French Open was held here, won by Arnaud Massy. In 1913, a legendary match between the top four players of France and the United States — ending in an overwhelming French victory — planted the seed for what would become the Ryder Cup.
Following its 1952 redesign, the La Vallée course has hosted nine French Opens, the 1963 World Cup, and numerous international tournaments. Today the estate spans 106 hectares and 45 holes.
-
Technical challenge: Fast, honest greens; deep bunkers placed with intent; an intelligent design that rewards thoughtful play.
-
Signature feature: A course set among pastoral countryside and woodland, where strategy is demanded on every single hole.

Golf de Sperone
A Mediterranean Jewel
Unforgettable Signature Hole
The only 18-hole course on Corsica, Sperone unfolds across 75 hectares of wild maquis and Mediterranean coastline near Bonifacio, where the Tyrrhenian Sea meets the island’s southern shore.
A masterwork by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. (6,106 metres), it ranks among the most spectacular courses in Europe. Every hole commands a breathtaking panorama: the cliffs of Bonifacio, the Lavezzi Islands, and on a clear day, the coast of Sardinia.
The iconic 16th hole — a carry over open sea — is the course’s defining moment, offering the singular sensation of playing among the clouds. Greens follow the unpredictable contours of the peninsula, providing technical complexity worthy of the most demanding golfer.
-
Technical challenge: Bold and precise in equal measure — navigating the sea, the maquis, and dramatic changes in elevation.
-
Signature feature: Greens that follow the natural terrain, strategic hazards, and tee shots that must be calculated to the yard.
